Before your first laundry pickup

Make a simple item list.

Count what you want cleaned and group similar items. “Six shirts, two trousers and one blanket” is more useful than “a bag of laundry.” Mention which pieces need ironing, and separate anything that requires a different service.

Check the pockets and labels.

Remove personal belongings from pockets. Keep detachable accessories together and ask whether they should travel with the garment. Photograph care labels on special items so the cleaning enquiry includes the manufacturer’s instructions.

Point out what needs attention.

Note visible stains, loose buttons, torn seams or existing damage. Tell the cleaner what caused a mark and whether you have already tried treating it. A photo helps explain the concern, but final suitability may still need an in-person assessment.

Share your location and deadline.

Give your locality first so collection coverage can be checked. Mention a preferred day and any deadline, such as a journey or wedding. Wait for confirmation of the pickup and return arrangements before treating the order as booked.

Agree the practical details.

• The items and cleaning or finishing service included.
• The quote, charging method and any collection charges.
• Any minimum order and the expected return date.
• How the items will be counted or recorded at handover.
