Photograph the complete piece.

Start with a clear picture showing the body and border. Add close-ups of zari, embroidery, beads, trims or other details. Photograph the blouse and any matching pieces separately if they are part of the order.

Share what you know.

Include the care label and any instructions supplied by the seller. Tell the cleaner about known fabric content, previous cleaning, alterations or repairs. If you aren’t sure, it’s better to say so than to guess.

Be specific about concerns.

Show marks, fraying, colour changes and loose decoration. Explain when a stain appeared and what, if anything, has been applied to it. This is a conversation about suitability and expectations, not a promise that every mark can be removed.

Mention the next occasion.

If you plan to wear the saree on a particular day, share that date at the start. Ask for confirmation of the service, quote and expected return before arranging collection.

Give irreplaceable garments extra consideration.

Tell the cleaner if the piece is a family heirloom or has special sentimental value. Ask about any concerns identified during assessment, and agree what will happen before the garment is accepted for cleaning.
